South Korea, China to Invest in Iran’s Aluminum and Brine Sectors

According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, some senior managers of DAELIM Corporation headed by Kyo in Choo, CEO of DAELIM Corporation, met Mehdi Karbasian, Chairman of the board of IMIDRO. “One of our aims for cooperation with Iran is to be as an investor or to make a joint venture in infrastructure projects such as ports, railways and mines and mining industries chains such as aluminum sector”, Kyo in Choo announced.
Current visit of South Korean president to Iran made several opportunities for us to broaden bilateral ties, Karbasian said.
He added:”there are limit opportunities for implementation of development projects, so companies which earlier attend in implementation activities are in our top priorities for cooperation.
He also invited DAELIM Corporation to attend in the 2nd Iran mine and mining industries summit (IMIS2016) which will be held on july11-12 in Tehran.
During a separate meeting, delegations of RDI, a Chinese company, met chairman of the board of IMIDRO yesterday.
RDI is willing to invest in Iran’s mine and mining industries sector especially in brine sector, they said.
“Regarding the Iran’s rich brine reserves, we are willing to invest in production and export obtained materials from these reserves and we aim to export approximately 80 percent of these products to China, Chen Qianjun, executive manager of RDI said.
Construction of industrial parks for brine extraction and processing is one of our plans for cooperation with Iran.
Also Karbasian noted the rich brine reserves in Iran Qom, Semnan and Esfahan provinces as appropriate opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
So far, we are producing potash from brines but now we are negotiating with several foreign firms for further utilization of theses brines. However ,if Chinese companies are ready to have activities in this sector so these projects could be implemented quickly, he  said.
